Our team is gearing up for another transport to our out-of-state shelter partners!🐶 Did you know? One of the key steps in the transport process is ensuring all the animals are healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and cleared by a vet with health certificates, which are required for out-of-state transport! We couldn't do it without the help of the dedicated veterinarians, like Dr. Barger, who work with us.💙 A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful foster families who provide a safe space for these pups as they await their fresh start. ❤️LOLA NEEDS OUR HELP❤️ Lola was recently $❤️LOLA NEEDS OUR HELP❤️ Lola was recently found hiding in a garage in a rural, Oklahoma county; weak and barely able to walk. The gentleman who found her reached out to the local shelter, but they were unable to provide the necessary care it was clear she needed. Thankfully, our rural shelter partner reached out to Nexus Pets and she was transferred to our care. We immediately took Lola to one of our partner veterinary clinics, where x-rays revealed three pelvic fractures, and she underwent critical surgery to repair the damage. To date her medical expenses have exceeded $3,000. Despite her suffering, Lola remains sweet and gentle, inspiring everyone she meets. Once fully recovered, she will be available for adoption through Nexus Pets. We are able to provide this extraordinary medical treatment for Lola and others like her through our Rita's Angel Fund. This fund, created in 2018, supports animals in our programs by providing the funds needed for extra diagnostic procedures, surgeries, and medications. This fund also allows us to take in animals that might not have a place to go, like Lola, knowing we can care for them with your support.
