Pet Care Specialist – Do you love animals and want your work to make a real difference? Nexus Pets is seeking compassionate, reliable Pet Care Specialists (full-time or part-time) to support the daily care, enrichment, and well-being of the pets in our program. You’ll also help connect animals with adopters through off-site adoption events and community outreach.
What You’ll Do:
Provide daily care, feeding, and enrichment
Maintain clean, safe, and low-stress environments
Assist with basic medical treatments and monitoring
Support, coordinate, and attend adoption events
Help match animals with loving homes
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Experience with animals is helpful but not required—we’ll train the right person!

Population Coordinator – Nexus Pets is seeking a detail-oriented, animal-welfare–driven Population Coordinator to support the flow of animals through our programs. This role ensures pets move safely and efficiently from intake to adoption, with a focus on tracking, scheduling, communication, and overall population management.
What You’ll Do:
Coordinate daily movement of animals through intake, medical care, foster, and adoption pathways
Maintain accurate animal records and data in shelter software
Communicate with internal teams to ensure timely treatments, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and readiness for adoption
Support scheduling for transports, veterinary appointments, and foster placements
Identify bottlenecks and help streamline processes to support live outcomes
Assist with population reporting and monitoring trends
What We’re Looking For:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills across teams
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Experience in animal welfare, sheltering, or veterinary settings preferred
Comfort using shelter management software (training provided)
A passion for improving outcomes for pets in our care
